St. Thomas will have a special blessing for Lori Culberson at the Sunday 6:00 pm Mass this weekend, April 28. There will be a reception following the mass. All are invited to come to wish her well in her next adventure.
Lori’s letter to the parish:
Spring is upon us – and change is in the air. I have been with St. Thomas for over 21 years, and after much prayer and discernment, it is time for me to take another path.
It has been my absolute privilege to witness the Spirit of St. Thomas. I love the Liturgy. I have shared your lives, heard your stories, been with you as you grieved your loved ones, and deepened my own faith life.
My heart is full of gratitude for each one of you. I am humbled at your service. Thank you for the many gifts you have shared with this community, and especially with me. This is an amazing place. I have seen the Spirit come alive in each of you – and been awed each time.
I’m not sure what the future holds. I smile and say (with tears in my eyes) I’m not sure what I’m going to do when I grow up. I have spent almost a third of my life with this community. I am not leaving St. Thomas, as this is my place of worship – and you are my family. I plan to continue to share the pews with you as Van and I have witnessed the sacraments of our children here, made countless friendships, and experienced and embraced the life giving charisms of St. Thomas.
My last day will be May 3. I plan to spend these next few months in my garden, and remember my time here with gratitude, trusting that God has a plan.
All good things,
