Brenda is thrilled to be the Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministry. She is a recent transplant to the Chicago area. Brenda grew up in Connecticut and raised her four boys there, David, Nicholas, Sam and Peter.

Right out of high school, she recognized her thirst for wanting to work with youth and marginalized communities. That led her to attend Sacred Heart University and to major in Social Work. She quickly fell in love with working with young adults that had developmental and intellectual disabilities. Brenda worked in residential, day programs as well as educational settings. In 2005, God had other plans for her. She was appointed  the Youth Minister at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Weston, Connecticut. Brenda served in that position as well the Director of Religious Education for ten years. Prior to her move to Chicago, Brenda was the Director at St. Catherine’s Center for Special Needs where she was responsible for the daily operation of a day program for young adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.

When not at work, Brenda enjoys spending time with her rescue dog, reading, walking, traveling and exploring new restaurants and museums with her husband Philip.
