On Saturday, July 20, St. Thomas the Apostle will host a Citizenship Clinic, sponsored and directed by World Relief DuPage/Aurora beginning at 9:00 a.m.
At this Clinic, legal permanent residents will be offered an opportunity to complete and submit the Application for Naturalized Citizenship (Form N-400) at a minimal cost over the required US Government Application Fee. World Relief will provide legal expertise to those wishing to apply and volunteers will assist applicants in completion of the required form.
St. Thomas parishioners are encouraged to consider volunteering for this event. Volunteers are required to submit a “volunteer application” and will receive training on how to complete Form N-400. Volunteers will also provide hospitality, refreshments and logistics during the workshop.
It is an arduous and lengthy process to become a citizen. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet and learn more about the individuals who have worked and studied to understand the rights and responsibilities that come with US Citizenship.
If you are interested in more information, contact Eleanor Wegman (firstname.lastname@example.org) or the Outreach and Social Justice Office at St. Thomas.
If you know of someone who is interested in applying for citizenship, please make them aware of this opportunity.
