Haiti Earthquake - Updates & Information
The Word of God is a Living Word

The Word of God is a living word, and when we encounter it, when we hear and are touched by it we encounter Christ, the Word made flesh.

We are caught up in the Word and are empowered... enabled... to carry out our Baptismal Faith. In the story of the Lord's baptism, we hear these words spoken to Jesus: "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased!"

Despite all our foibles, weaknesses, faults and failings, and maybe especially because of them we need to hear those same words spoken to Jesus, "You are my beloved son/daughter, with you I am well pleased."

They offer us the hope and opportunity of becoming our best selves. Those words are in effect spoken to us at our Baptism, when we are and become beloved sons and daughters of God. We are sent out to live those words, to speak those words to one another, in word and deed. In such ways we carry out our Baptismal vows and promises. In those ways our Baptismal call and vocation is fulfilled, and we become One with Christ and each other in the incarnate living Word of God, The Word Made Flesh, the very embodiment of Jesus which saves, heals, and redeems our lives.

The St. Thomas the Apostle community is a place where all are welcome. We invite you to join us as Companions on the Journey.
