Making Happiness a Habit: Steps to a More Joyful Marriage

Making Happiness a Habit: 4 Steps to a More Joyful Marriage will be presented in the Lighthouse on Monday, April 23, from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m. by Dr. Jim Healy, Director of the Office of Family Ministry of the Diocese of Joliet. Designed to be enjoyed by couples in all ages and stages of marriage, this event focuses on the “habits of the heart” that lead to joy and fulfillment. Happiness in marriage comes not so much from the “once in a lifetime” events, wonderful as they are, but from the things we do over and over again. A down-to-earth, encouraging speaker, Jim Healy has spoken on marriage in over 85 dioceses, has published numerous materials for marriage preparation and enrichment, and has served as an advisor to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on Marriage and the Family.

Since 1989, Dr. Healy has been the Director of the Office of Family Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Joliet, Illinois. He received his M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago in 1978 and his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Illinois in 1985. Honored in 2000 with the Family Ministry Award by the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers, her and his wife Madonna have 4 adult children.

To attend this event, RSVP by April 20 to Marge Coronado at 630.355.8980 x118 or mcoronado@stapostle.org. A freewill offering will be accepted, and Dr. Healy’s CD will be available at $3 each.
