Deacon Larry was ordained in September of 2005. He has completed a 32-year career with AT&T and Lucent Technologies retiring as Regional Manager of Public Relations. He is a past chairman of the Springfield (IL) Historical Sites Commission, board member of the Springfield Urban League, the DuPage County Crisis Line, Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Somerset County (NJ) Voluntary Action Center and chairman of the Somerset County advisory board to the Office on Aging. Most recently he served as Vice Chairperson of the Warrenville Cenacle Board of Directors. He is a Vietnam veteran and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Currently Deacon Larry is a member of Pax Christi at St. Thomas and is active in prison ministry at the DuPage County Jail and Public Action to Deliver Shelter (PADS) in Aurora. He ministers at Edward Hospital and Linden Oaks Hospital in Naperville and is an on-call Deacon at Edward. He is also active in nursing home ministry as well as ministry to the seriously ill and participates in the RCIA program at St. Thomas.

Deacon Larry’s wife Susan is a Chaplain at Edward Hospital and their son Matt is currently in the Doctoral program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.

Deacon Larry’s vision is to bring the loving, healing, forgiving and evangelizing image of God that is the great charge of the Second Vatican Council, to the people of St. Thomas.
