St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church - Naperville, IL

From the Desk of the Director of Pastoral Care

As we approach the holiest week of our liturgical year, I hope that your experience with the No Greater Love program has helped you to focus on the journey that Jesus took in his public ministry and on his final journey along the way of sorrows. Many have said that they experienced an encounter with the living Christ in ways they hadn’t before. By walking his path in the scripture and meditating on his journey, their own experience of walking somehow made Jesus’ journey real for them.

Theologian Thomas Merton said, “True encounter with Christ liberates something in us, a power we did not know we had, a hope, a capacity for life, a resilience, an ability to bounce back when we thought that we were completely defeated, a capacity to grow and change, a power of creative transformation.”

May we know the freedom of the risen Christ as we continue our journey to Easter.
