How to Help
The St. Thomas Care (Food) Pantry is still open. Our latest drive-thru pantry occurred on Tuesday, April 7. We are not taking food donations at this time. With the church offices closed, we are mostly working from home, so food donations would be difficult to coordinate. Of even more importance, people need to stay home, and having them perhaps making special trips to buy food and then bringing food to St. Thomas is not a good idea at this time.
We are buying food from Northern Illinois Foodbank, where the dollars we spend brings food at significantly lower prices than from grocery stores. So dollar donations are more effective than food donations.
If you wish to make a dollar donation, there are two ways:
1. Checks can be written to “St. Thomas OSJ” with “Care Pantry” in the memo and sent to St. Thomas OSJ – ATTN: ANNE (1500 Brookdale Rd., Naperville, IL 60563).
2. Go to www.stapostle.org and click “Please Give” box on the home page. Select “Click here to setup your online giving account.” You have the choice of setting up an account or “Quick Give.” Click the “funds” drop down list and select the “St. Thomas Cares” fund. We look forward to being together again and to the time when food donations are accepted again at Mass!
