“I’m going to talk to my boyfriend. I think we can make it work.”
The timing of her first pregnancy had” Ella” questioning everything. She told us that she is pro-life but considered abortion after both her father and boyfriend suggested it may be the best choice for her right now. Stating she did not feel right about this, Ella ultimately decided that abortion was NOT the path for her to take. “I don’t think I could live with myself if I had an abortion,” she told her patient advocate.
During Ella’s initial appointments, she indicated that adoption might be her best option, so she talked through this process with her resource specialist. At a subsequent ultrasound she was very excited to hear her baby’s heartbeat and stated how amazing it is to see the baby grow so quickly. Ella decided to forego adoption plans and continue as a parent.
Ella told us she hopes her relationship with her boyfriend will last, but she is prepared to go forward with this pregnancy no matter what. She has begun taking parenting classes under the supervision of the Aspire Resource and Education Department and has worked out a plan for insurance to cover her doctor care.
