Becoming a Gift of Hope for the Poor
As Advent begins, we light the first candle of Hope and remember that Christ Himself is God’s greatest gift to a world in need. Jesus enters our human story not with wealth or power, but in simplicity and poverty — showing us that God’s gifts often come quietly and unexpectedly.
This week, the OSJ office invites you to reflect on how we can be a gift of hope to those who struggle: families facing food insecurity, neighbors burdened by rising costs and individuals who feel invisible during the holidays. Advent reminds us that hope grows when we allow ourselves to become the hands and feet of Christ in a hurting world.
