Harvest Sunday Results Thank You, St. Thomas!
This Harvest Sunday, more than 100 parishioners volunteered their time to help with distributing flyers and route collection, collecting food from Casey’s Foods, and sorting, packing and boxing food. Many others donated through Amazon and by drop-off or drive-thru donation.
The food donated was sorted and boxed into 1,060 boxes! This is an astounding increase from the 726 boxes packed last year. As always, 40 percent of the food will be shared with the Sisters of Notre Dame from the south side of Chicago; 40 percent with Queen of the Apostles in Joliet (Fr. Dof’s former parish); and 20 percent to our Care Pantry.
Thank Yous
Thank you, St. Thomas for the overwhelming support for this event. Thank you for donating food and volunteering your time to make this all possible. A special thanks to the middle school RE classes for making all of the boxes we used!
So many people in our community are facing unimaginable challenges. They are wondering how they will feed their families day to day, not just during the upcoming holiday season. The results of this Harvest Sunday certainly give us a glimmer of hope during this time.
