Ministry of Care
Ministry of Care is a pastoral ministry that looks after those who cannot be with us as a parish community. It is made up by men and women who visit the sick and homebound in hospitals, convalescent centers and homes. They bring with them the good news of our faith community, our prayers and concern for them, and most importantly, the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist.
Currently the pastoral care team has 30 ministers who visit the sick, offer communion services and pray the rosary in 10 long-term care facilities, Edward Hospital and individual homes. St. Thomas ministry of care is present to those in need every day of the week.
“I really enjoy being part of this ministry. I appreciate the chance to meet new people and have the opportunity to provide a much needed and special service. It is a joy and a privilege to call on members of the community who are unable to come to a service or church. I have met so many wonderful, appreciative people. I am blessed.”
