Our Lady of Guadalupe Celebration
Many thanks to St. Nicholas Parish in Aurora for sharing their spirit and devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe and for helping us to celebrate her feast day with song, dance and a special re-enactment of the story of Our Lady’s appearances to Juan Diego. It was beautiful!
Prayer to Our Lady of Guadalupe for Immigrant Families
Blessed Mary, you appeared to the indigenous man, Juan Diego, on the hill in Tepeyac in 1531 with the name Guadalupe. You offered him and the world your protection. We ask that you remember “yours and all the people who live united in this land and of all the other people of different ancestries.” Protect our immigrant brothers and sisters, whether they are in transit, arriving at borders or within our very communities. Be for them and us, as you have been for so many before, the Light that shines brightly in our dark world, the hope and the reminder of your son, Jesus Christ. Amen
Taken from words spoken to Juan Diego, 1531.
