Exciting News for St. Thomas — New and Improved Audio-Visual System
Our current AV system, particularly our livestream audio/video, was a temporary response to the pandemic, along with legacy equipment and more recent add-ons.
Due to the generosity of an anonymous donor, we are now in a position to put in place a permanent solution for in-church and livestream audio visuals.
- New and improved projector placed out-of-the-way with no more tripping hazard with cord on the floor.
- Upgraded of aging audio components in church.
- Audio visual equipment and controls all in one place versus scattered around the church, permitting instantaneous fixes to problems in church or on the live stream.
Big changes for our homebound and traveling parishioners. Currently, our livestream will sometimes fail and go to a black screen. Additionally, the audio can sometimes be distorted or even lost.
With the new equipment
- Livestream video — better and more consistent visuals.
- Livestream audio — better sound fidelity, more like the in-church experience regardless if using your cell phone, a tablet or a computer.
With growing use of church shopping online, readiness for future interruptions in church services and serving our homebound parishioners, this upgrade will be a major benefit.
This is part of a multi-step project. We will still want to install larger video screens with appropriate projectors or Video Wall to improve our in-church worship experience. And at some point, we’ll need to upgrade our Main Speaker Cluster and replace our main power amps. This will be done as money is made available.
