Advent by Candlelight
St. Thomas the Apostle Advent by Candlelight is a beloved Advent tradition that invites women of all ages in the parish to pause, breathe and reclaim the sacred heart of the season. Held during one of the busiest times of the year, this beautiful evening offers space to step away from the noise, schedules and early strains of secular Christmas, and instead enter into the quiet, reflective spirit of Advent.
The program is designed as a gift of time for yourself. The evening includes a guest speaker, who will offer reflection on finding the sacredness of Advent — even in unexpected places — helping participants re-center their hearts on faith during this holy season. The reflection is complemented by refreshments, dessert and fellowship, creating an atmosphere of warmth, connection and shared prayer.
Women from across the parish come together to decorate tables in creative and meaningful ways, carefully attending to every detail — from candles and seasonal accents to knick-knacks and place settings. Each table reflects the care, creativity and hospitality that make this evening so special and transforms the Lighthouse into a warm and prayerful setting illuminated by candlelight and thoughtful décor.
Advent by Candlelight remains a treasured evening at St. Thomas the Apostle — one that gently reminds us, even amid the busyness of the season, to make room for faith, fellowship and the light of Christ.
