DuPage United Update
DuPage United is an inclusive, non-profit, non-partisan organization whose members are churches, mosques, synagogues, non-profit agencies and associations. This mix of institutions have come together to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities. St. Thomas is one of the founding members of DuPage United.
Because of the efforts of DuPage United members, the village board of Glen Ellyn approved the sale of hotel properties on Roosevelt Road to Full Circle Communities to build affordable housing. Ground is expected to be broken in 2025 for 42 affordable, accessible and supportive housing units in Glen Ellyn. DuPage United hopes to build five more affordable housing apartment communities, one for each county board district. DuPage United is trying to find land for those developments.
Meanwhile, a six-month listening campaign is kicking off within DuPage United’s member institutions to identify the most pressing issues facing its members and to guide future initiatives. DuPage United is continuing to build relationships by reaching out to new institutions.
