Turkey and Ham Collection

Turkey and Ham Collections during holiday seasons are where generosity and compassion come together.

This program ensures families in need can celebrate the holidays with dignity, joy and a warm meal at their tables. The program reflects the church’s ongoing commitment to living the Gospel through service — transforming faith into action by caring for neighbors near and far.

Each year, parishioners and friends contribute frozen turkeys, hams and related foods that make a family meal complete. Volunteers then organize and distribute these donations to community food pantries and organizations that serve struggling households. What may seem like a simple act of giving becomes a powerful expression of faith and love.

At St. Thomas, giving is seen as a form of prayer — a way to thank God for blessings received and to extend those blessings to others. Each turkey and ham collected represents gratitude, compassion and the shared joy of community.

Through these programs, parishioners deepen their connection to God and one another, embodying the spirit of the holidays. The collection reminds everyone that true celebration is found not only in receiving, but in giving generously so all can share in the warmth, dignity and love.
