Pet Blessing

Pet Blessing

The annual Pet Blessing at St. Thomas celebrates faith, compassion and the special bond between people and their pets. Held outdoors on the church grounds near the labyrinth, this event brings together parishioners, neighbors and visitors for a meaningful experience that honors all of God’s creatures. Whether your companion is furry, finned, or feathered, every pet is welcomed at this special blessing and prayer event.

We welcome all people, all pets — this is a special outdoor blessing held each year

Inspired by St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron Saint of Animals, the Pet Blessing includes a short prayer service and individual blessings for each animal. Families and individuals gather in a relaxed, friendly setting where laughter, wagging tails and gentle purrs fill the space. It’s a moment to pause, give thanks for the pets who enrich our lives and celebrate the wonder of creation through faith and gratitude.

The annual Pet Blessing reminds us that all living creatures are reflections of God’s creation and reveal themselves as God’s goodness.
