Harvest Sunday
Harvest Sunday embodies the parish’s commitment to living out faith through service and strengthening community bonds. Hosted annually, this outreach-driven initiative responds to the Gospel call to “feed the hungry,” directly supporting the parish’s outreach efforts as well as local food pantries.
Harvest Sunday invites parishioners of all ages to engage in meaningful action
- Collecting food donations house-to-house
- Delivering items from designated neighborhood routes
- Sorting and packing food for distribution
These activities are not just practical, but deeply communal, enabling families, neighbors and friends to work side-by-side. The hands-on involvement highlights how the parish values action as a part of worship, turning faith into real-world response.
Faith in Action
1
Generosity
Harvest Sunday offers a clear window into what the St. Thomas parish community stands for: care for those in need, generosity and connection.
2
Togetherness
Through this event, St. Thomas encourages parishioners to form relationships while making an impact — children helping alongside adults, longtime parishioners partnering with newcomers and neighbors from different walks of life joining in a common purpose.
3
Unity
The collaborative nature of the food collection and distribution not only supports the vulnerable in the wider region, but also reinforces the sense of belonging and togetherness within the parish itself.
4
Faithfulness
Harvest Sunday becomes more than a food drive — it becomes a living expression of the church’s mission. It fosters spiritual growth by inviting participants to step beyond themselves, deepen their commitment to service and build authentic relationships rooted in shared faith and compassion.
Harvest Sunday illustrates how faith is practiced and lived and how together parishioners can truly make a difference.
