St. Vincent de Paul Ministry: Helping Families Remain in Their Homes
The St. Vincent de Paul Ministry at St. Thomas responds to calls from local families seeking rent and utility assistance. While national news often speaks broadly about the economy, St. Vincent de Paul volunteers see firsthand what those challenges mean for families right here in Naperville. During the month of May, the ministry received 30 phone calls and was able to provide support to 15 families. In total, $7,116.68 in assistance was provided, with most of those funds helping families remain current on apartment rent.
Each family assisted by the ministry met with St. Vincent de Paul volunteers and had the opportunity to share part of their story. As this important ministry continues, additional help is needed.
