St. Vincent de Paul Ministry: Helping Families Remain in Their Homes
The St. Vincent de Paul Ministry at St. Thomas responds to local families seeking rent and utility assistance. While national news often speaks broadly about the economy, our volunteers see firsthand what these challenges mean for families here in Naperville. In August, the ministry received 29 phone calls and provided support to 16 families, including 19 adults and 7 children. Over the month, the ministry distributed $9,959.58 in assistance, primarily to help families stay current on apartment rent. Every family we assisted spoke with St. Vincent de Paul volunteers and had an opportunity to share part of their story.
As you might imagine, meeting these needs in August placed a significant strain on the SVDP budget. Your generosity makes it possible for our St. Vincent de Paul volunteers to assist so many neighbors. If you would like to support this ministry, please donate online or donate by making a check payable to St. Vincent de Paul.
We are deeply grateful for the generosity of the St. Thomas the Apostle faith community. With your support, St. Vincent de Paul can continue helping our neighbors remain safely in their homes.
