Become an Altar Server!
Are you in 4th through 12th grade and looking for a meaningful way to serve your Church?
Serving at the altar during Mass is a special opportunity to witness up close the miracle of the Real Presence of Christ present in the Eucharist each Sunday at St. Thomas. As an Altar Server, you are more than just a helper—you become a visible sign of reverence, service, and faith. This is a unique and honored role within the Church, and we invite you to consider being part of it. Training for new Altar Servers will be held Wednesday, September 17, at 5:00 pm in the church. To sign up or learn more, please contact Jerry Sebold, Altar Server Coordinator, or Scott Knisley in the Liturgy office.
Weekday Mass Schedule Change: September 16–18
Due to the annual Priest Convocation, there will be no weekday Mass September 16, 17 and 18. Instead, a Communion Service will be held at 8:30 am on each of those days.
Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick
St. Thomas the Apostle invites you to celebrate the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Sunday, September 21, at 9:00 am in the Chapel.
As a Catholic community of faith, we have the Holy Sacraments to give us strength, nourishment and healing. Anyone, of all ages, can benefit from the sacrament of anointing — as many times as needed! There are no limits to anointing, as we are all in need of healing of various troubling conditions — physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Please join us for this special celebration.
6:00 pm Mass Returns Sunday, September 21
St. Thomas’ Sunday Night 6:00 pm Mass resumes September 21 … and we need you! This is a very upbeat, lively Mass geared for youth and the young at heart. We are in particular need of middle school and high school aged teens to be lectors, hospitality ministers, singers and musicians. If interested, please contact Scott or Lori in the Liturgy Office.
Youth Choir
The St. Thomas Youth Choir (grades 2–7) will soon come together for the new season. This is an amazing opportunity for children to be more involved in the liturgy while also learning vocal technique and music skills. For more information or to register, contact Scott Knisley in the Liturgy Office.
Eucharistic Adoration
First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place Friday, October 3, from 9:00 am–12:00 pm in the Chapel. Adoration will also be offered Sunday, October 5, from 7:00–8:00 pm in the Church. For more information or to assist with setting up, contact Linda Ambrosecchia at lsecchiala@gmail.com.
Pet Blessing October 5
St. Thomas’ annual pet blessing will take place Sunday, October 5, at 1:00 pm in the south yard by the labyrinth. Bring your furry, finned or flying friend for a prayer service and blessing in honor of St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Animals. All pets are welcome.
