Alpha Update
As part of our ongoing efforts in discipleship and evangelization, St. Thomas launched Alpha two years ago. Since then, close to 200 people have experienced Alpha, and we’re currently in Week 7 of our latest session! Behind it all is a wonderful team of 24 dedicated people who make each evening possible.
So, what is Alpha?
Alpha is a series of relaxed, interactive sessions that explore the basics of the Christian faith. Each evening includes a catered meal, a short video and open, honest conversations in small groups. It’s a welcoming place to explore life’s big questions, ask questions about faith and discover or deepen a relationship with Jesus.
Alpha is especially designed for those who may not regularly attend church, those who attend but are looking to become more engaged in their faith or anyone simply wondering if there is something more. But everyone is welcome! There’s no pressure or expectation to have all the answers. Participants are invited to attend the first one or two sessions and then decide if Alpha is right for them.
One of the most beautiful things about Alpha is watching people grow in their relationship with Jesus and with one another. It’s an opportunity to build connections, explore faith and discover what it means to follow Christ.
Please keep all those participating in Alpha, along with our dedicated Alpha Team, in your prayers. May this experience continue to open hearts, deepen faith and help people encounter the love of Jesus.
