Be Alert for Scams
Some people have reported receiving a text or an email reportedly from Fr. Peter. The message indicates that Fr. Peter needs some help and also says not to call Fr. Peter because of his busy schedule. This is a scam!
Fr. Peter will never ask parishioners to purchase gift cards, use an unusual payment method, keep a request secret, or respond to an urgent personal appeal for help. He will never ask you to open an unexpected attachment, either.
Although these messages may appear to come from Fr. Peter, the sender’s email address may be fake. Click on the sender’s name to check the actual email address against the one published in the parish bulletin.
If you receive a suspicious message, do not respond, click on links, open attachments, share personal information or purchase anything. Report the message as phishing and delete it. If you are unsure whether a message is legitimate, contact the parish office directly to verify it.
Please stay alert and help us keep our St. Thomas community safe!
