Day of the Dead Altar Decorating October 25
Join members of the Immigration and Refugee Initiative Ministry and our neighbors from St. Nicholas as we gather to decorate a special Day of the Dead altar in memory of loved ones who have died. In Hispanic cultures, these altars — often called ofrendas — create a sacred and welcoming space for remembrance, using meaningful symbols and personal mementos to honor the lives and legacies of those who have gone before us. This beautiful tradition reminds us that the bonds of love, family, and community continue across generations.
Please join us Sunday, October 25, at 3:00 pm at St. Thomas for an afternoon of fellowship, reflection and shared remembrance as we prepare the altar together and learn more about this meaningful cultural tradition.
If possible, please RSVP by emailing Sara Drever at sarajoburnett@gmail.com, as this will help us plan for refreshments. However, if you would like to attend but have not emailed in advance, please come anyway — we would be happy to have you join us.
