Holiday Card Collection and Signing for Incarcerated Persons
“I was in prison and you came to visit me.” Matthew 25:36
St. Thomas Couriers of Compassion is partnering with Companions Journeying Together to collect unsigned Christmas cards and postage stamps and to invite volunteers to sign cards for persons incarcerated in Illinois prisons. This project helps those incarcerated strengthen family bonds and adds some holiday cheer.
Please place donated cards and stamps in the Couriers basket in the Gathering Area from September 12 through October 19. Guidelines:
- If donating, place stamps in a separate envelope, NOT on card envelopes.
- Donated cards must be unsigned and not have any glue, glitter, paint, crayon, adhesives, ribbon, cloth, stickers or string. No Mass or Novena cards.
Card Signing: Tuesday, October 20, 9:30–11:30 am at the St. Thomas Senior Center. Treats and coffee/tea provided.
