Lakota Children’s Coat and Hygiene Collection Results
Thank you, St. Thomas community for your donation of 73 girls’ coats, 92 boys’ coats, boots, hats, scarves and gloves. This year’s ask was slightly different, and although we didn’t send coats or blankets to the Reservation this time around, we did collect 39 blankets and 10 sleeping bags. On Wednesday, September 30, John and Linda Zimnie arrived at the Pine Ridge Reservation to deliver 30 bags worth of donated items. In addition to the physical items donated, a total of $5,150 in monetary donations were sent to Lakota for the purchase of much needed children’s hygiene items!
Many thanks to The Lakota Ministry volunteers who sorted and packed donations for the duration of the collection, and who eventually loaded the truck when it was time for the delivery team to head out. Speaking of the delivery team, a huge thank you to John and Linda for their offer to make the trip!
Thank you for commitment to this twinning relationship.
