St. Thomas Prayer Ministry
Prayer can take many different forms. It can be a favorite learned prayer such as the Our Father or Hail Mary, it can be contemplating a Psalm, or saying the rosary, or reflecting on a Christian mystery, or practicing lectio divina. It can be sitting in silence and listening for the whisper of Spirit, or expressing gratitude, or asking for help, or crying tears of sorrow or joy.
Prayer comes in many forms, yet it can be simply an expression of “Thank you!” “Wow!” or “Help!” Which type(s) of prayer do you find yourself using?
All are welcome to meet with a member of the St. Thomas’ prayer ministry team after the 9:30 am Mass each Sunday. Come pray for the concerns of your heart. The prayer minister will guide you through your time of prayer.
“For where two or three are gathered together in My name, there am I in the midst of them.” Matthew 18:20
Members of St. Thomas’s prayer ministry team are available to help you encounter the healing presence of Jesus in your life. Beginning in June, the prayer partner ministry will be available for short times of prayer every Sunday, in the chapel following the 9:30 am Mass, to pray for you and your special intentions.
What happens during a Prayer encounter?
A prayer minister will pray with you to receive whatever healing God desires to give you. You will be given the opportunity to say prayers which will help you to open up more deeply to God. It can be helpful to know one or two specific things or situations in your life that you would like to bring to the prayer session. The Prayer minister will guide you through your time of prayer.
