A Journey of Amazing Grace

Like many, Fr. John’s journey has included moments of deep struggle. Years ago he faced a gambling addiction that caused harm to the community he served. Through accountability, restitution, and the support of the Church and the recovery community, he experienced profound conversion and healing. He remains in long-term recovery, grateful for the mercy of God and the companionship of others on the journey.

Prodigal Siblings

His experience of both sin and mercy, of addiction and recovery, has taught him that we are all prodigal siblings making our way home to the Father together — and that God never stops calling his children back into relationship. Fr. John is open about his story and considers it a gift to accompany others seeking healing, hope, and renewed life in Christ.

Fr. John on St. Thomas

Fr. John began his ministry at St. Thomas the Apostle in 2025. He is grateful for the vibrant faith and generous spirit of the parish — from the beauty of worship to the many ways parishioners serve others with joy. Much of his day is spent celebrating the sacraments, preaching, hearing confessions, anointing the sick, and walking with families in times of loss and hope. He enjoys golfing, bowling, good conversation and cheering on his favorite sports teams.
