After his ordination in 2018, Deacon Tony Clishem served as a deacon at Christ the King Parish in Lombard before accepting his new assignment at St. Thomas in April of this year. Having earned a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership, he now serves the Diocese of Joliet as the Office of Catechetical Formation Lead, a position that supports all parish religious education programs. Deacon Tony also administers the diocesan School of Spiritual Direction, which trains spiritual directors for ministry in the Diocese. He gives talks around the diocese on topics of interest, including the harmony between faith and science and evangelization through sacred art. His poetry and articles have been published by The Deacon Magazine, Christ Is Our Hope Magazine and Aleteia.org. Married to his wife, Carol, for 37 years, together they have raised two sons.
